A Space for Healing and Growth
We offer professional counselling/psychological support for individuals who have been involved with the criminal justice system/leaving prison and are ready to take steps toward emotional wellbeing and a more stable future. Whether you’re adjusting to life after prison, coping with trauma, or trying to break long-standing cycles, you don’t have to face it alone.
Our Approach
Everyone’s journey is different. We work collaboratively with other organisations and can offer support in many areas with our expertise of working within the criminal justice system. We work with you, respecting your pace and your goals. Using evidence-based therapeutic methods, we focus on building emotional stability, confidence, and positive change.

Our counselling services
Restorative Journeys Project CIC offers FREE specialised counselling services designed to support individuals through challenging transitions. Our team is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment where you can explore your experiences and develop coping strategies for a more fulfilling life.
We will offer weekly support for individuals wanting to work on any mental health challenges. We offer a trauma informed approach to work with you to overcome some of your past traumatic experiences.
1. Confidential One-to-One Counselling
Private sessions where you can speak openly without judgement. We help you explore emotions, challenges, and goals in a safe, supportive environment.
2. Support for Emotional Wellbeing
Guidance for managing:
Anxiety and depression
Stress and overwhelm
Feelings of guilt, shame, or low self-worth
Trauma related to past experiences
3. Behavioural and Life Skills Support
We provide practical tools to help you build stability and confidence, including:
Anger management
Impulse control and decision-making
Communication and relationship skills
Developing healthy routines and coping strategies
4.Reintegration and Transition Support
Returning to the community can be difficult. We help with:
Adjusting to new expectations
Rebuilding identity and self-confidence
Navigating family, work, and social changes
Setting realistic, achievable personal goals
5. Relapse and risk reduction
We work collaboratively to help you understand triggers, strengthen resilience, and develop personalised plans to maintain positive progress.
6. Online and In-person appointments available
Flexible FREE appointments for all men who have recently left prison in the Hampshire area. Many options designed to fit around all commitments.
Individual Counselling
Our individual counselling sessions provide a confidential space for you to address personal challenges, develop self-awareness, and work towards your goals with the support of a qualified therapist.
These appointments are available for you to feel heard and comfortable. They are confidential appointments and all this will be explained further with your therapist.
Counselling can be a great way to help you when you are going through a tough and stressful period of your life. That many are not able to understand. Our members have experience of working within the criminal justice system. Some have worked within the mental health teams within prisons and have an understanding of the type of support and therapy that you may need to work towards a more fulfilling life.
Transition Support
We specialise in offering support to individuals transitioning from prison, assisting with reintegration into the community and navigating the challenges of rebuilding their lives.
We can work with many other organisations and liaise with them with your permission. Transitioning from prison life to life in the community is hard for many. We help to normalise this for you and help you build and grow relationships and opportunities in which are healthy for your reinterpretation.
Group Therapy
Join our group therapy sessions to connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering a sense of community and mutual support on your restorative journey.
Some prefer to attend group sessions and they are a great way for you to all learn from each other. Only men that have been recently released from prison will attend these groups and gives a sense of belonging as well as empathic support.
Wellbeing Workshops
Participate in our wellbeing workshops, designed to equip you with practical tools and strategies for managing stress, improving mental health, and enhancing overall wellbeing.
Many find these helpful and often come away with new ideas and inspiration.
